According to the Public Relations Office of Ayatollah Araki, the Annual Assembly of Professors of the Qom Seminary was held today, Thursday, 4 Dey 1404 (late December 2025), under the theme:
“ The 12-Day Sacred Defense; The Enemy’s New Military Configuration and Future Prospects,”
at the conference hall of Imam Musa al-Kazim School (peace be upon him).
Seminaries Will Not Tolerate Negligence by Certain Officials
Ayatollah Araki described the Islamic seminaries as sincere well-wishers of the country’s officials and stated: While we genuinely care for them and pray for their success, we do not tolerate negligence by some officials and have clear criticisms regarding such complacency.
In his address at the annual assembly of the Professors’ Association, Ayatollah Araki noted that today military wars have been replaced by what he called the “jihad of commands and directives,” adding that the widespread disorder in today’s world stems from humanity’s refusal to obey divine commands.
Referring to the Qur’anic verse, “To Him belongs the creation and the command,” he said that today the enemies have imposed a comprehensive soft war aimed at distancing people from obedience to God’s commands and leading them instead toward obedience to Satan and non-divine authorities.
He emphasized that Islamic jurisprudence represents the articulation of divine commands in all spheres of life, stressing that clarifying this truth is the responsibility of scholars, seminaries, and universities. He also called for holding explanatory sessions on this matter, noting that seminaries and universities bear a serious responsibility in this regard.
Providing an economic example, Ayatollah Araki remarked that for years the West has imposed fiat money on nations as a means of enforcing its culture and economic system and plundering their resources, whereas Islamic jurisprudence and economics believe in real money and acknowledge its proper function.
He then questioned why some do not allow these issues to be explained and promoted, asking why Islamic economic jurisprudence is not permitted to be presented in academic and research forums, nor even subjected to scholarly examination and critique.
Ayatollah Araki affirmed that there is no doubt such discussions could resolve part of the country’s problems, adding that while the seminaries sincerely support the government, parliament, and judiciary, they will not accept the negligence currently observed among some officials.
He concluded by describing the association of seminary professors and scholars as a valuable opportunity, stating that Islamic seminaries are a vast reservoir of capabilities that must be utilized by those in authority.
