Ayatollah Araki described the exalted thoughts of the late Imam Khomeini as rational and universal, emphasizing that these ideas must be introduced and explained to the world.
According to the Public Relations Office of Ayatollah Araki, His Eminence delivered a speech at the commemoration ceremony of the martyrdom anniversary of Ayatollah Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini, held at the residence of the late Imam in Qom. Referring to the high spiritual and scholarly status of Allameh Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini and his intellectual comprehensiveness, he said: “Both the late Haj Agha Mostafa and the late Haj Ahmad Agha were loyal companions and partners of the Imam in leading the Islamic Revolution.”
He added: “We must acknowledge that the movement of Imam Khomeini was a great transformation in human history, and we have not yet succeeded in fully explaining all dimensions of this divine and global movement.”
Ayatollah Araki continued: “One of Imam Khomeini’s great achievements was reviving and unveiling pure Islam from beneath the dust of centuries.”
Referring to the Qur’anic verse ‘Indeed, to Him belongs the creation and the command’, he stated that clarifying the true meanings of monotheism, prophethood, and imamate — and introducing the real understanding of God, the prophets, and the saints, particularly in relation to governance and politics — were among the most significant works of Imam Khomeini.
He said: “Imam Khomeini clearly explained that the mission of the prophets and saints was to establish divine governance in society, and that they were sent for this very purpose.”
Citing the Qur’anic expression ‘And I have been commanded to judge justly between you’, he emphasized that the prophets and saints sought to establish justice — that is, to implement Islamic laws and jurisprudence within society.
Criticizing those who still promote an Islam devoid of politics, he said: “Is Islam and jurisprudence anything other than politics, justice, laws, and beliefs?”
He described jurisprudence as the comprehensive system of Islam, noting that Imam Khomeini introduced Islamic politics as the heritage of the prophets for the world and implemented it within our nation.
Ayatollah Araki further stated that the lofty ideas of Imam Khomeini are also reflected in the Constitution, emphasizing that the Imam’s thought is rational and universal, and must be taught within our seminaries and universities — and presented to the world.
